History Of Moore's Barbershop

Established in 1943 by the late Willie Lee Floyd Moore, our barbershop is more than just a place to get a haircut – it's a testament to a life dedicated to community, tradition, and the art of barbering. For over 60 years, Mr. Moore, affectionately known to many as a personal friend, graced these very chairs, shaping not only hair but also the lives of thousands. He built one of the oldest African American owned businesses in the area, a legacy that has endured for over 75 years. His unparalleled work ethic, evident in his six-day work week well into his later years, and his unwavering commitment to his craft, saw him serving the community until his retirement at the remarkable age of 90. More than just a barber, Mr. Moore was a pillar of the community, and we are honored to carry on his tradition of exceptional service and genuine care

To Willie: Thank you for your sacrifice in establishing this barbershop. Thank you for the countless hours you dedicated to your craft and our community. Thank you for being an icon, a mentor, and a friend to so many. Your legacy lives on in every cut, every conversation, and every member of this community you touched.
